New Delhi, July 31, 2025 – After months of heated dispute and uncertainty, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has delivered its final ruling, officially declaring Inter Kashi as the legitimate champions of the 2024–25 I-League season.
This landmark decision overturns the earlier ruling by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), which had previously revoked the title due to a controversial forfeiture and alleged rule violations.
Inter Kashi had originally finished the season at the top of the table and were celebrated as champions. However, protests from rival clubs such as Gokulam Kerala and Mohammedan SC led the AIFF to launch a review and temporarily strip the title, citing regulatory irregularities in player registration and match conduct.
Unwilling to accept the decision, Inter Kashi escalated the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland, initiating a legal battle that lasted nearly three months. Today, CAS ruled in Inter Kashi’s favor, declaring that the club had not violated any league rules, and all points and results from the season remain valid and legitimate.
Following the verdict, the President of Inter Kashi issued a statement:
“This is not just a victory for Inter Kashi, but a win for transparency and justice in Indian football. We’ve always believed in truth and the law.”
Meanwhile, the AIFF acknowledged the decision, stating it respects the CAS ruling and will formally reinstate Inter Kashi’s championship title in the coming days.
This is the first time in I-League history that a championship has been decided through an international sports court. The case has sent shockwaves across the Indian football community and serves as a critical reminder of the need for clear, transparent governance and legal protocol in sports administration.
With this confirmation, Inter Kashi is now strongly positioned for promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL) next season—opening a new chapter in the club’s journey.
